Do a load of laundry, or wash the dishes in the sink! The simple things can be huge, especially when their life feels like chaos.
Naturally, you want to spend time with your friends and their new baby. They, however, may not have the energy for socialization. If you make them a dinner, or drop off baby clothes and supplies, it’s just as appreciated when you drop it simply drop it off, say bye and leave. Sticking around to chat may be nice, but it can be hard for them if they're also distracted with their responsibilities and sleep-deprived. I promise that new parents still want to be your friend, they're just tired! If your new parent friends have other kids, then volunteering to babysit can be a lifesaver! Perhaps you take their kids out for a day trip rather than bringing them home. Even a few hours with the kids away from home let those new parents get some much needed peace and quiet. You could keep their kids busy and entertained at a museum or zoo, depending on the weather. There's also community centers, arcades, jump parks and other activities for kids.
